Wanda Austin, PhD

CEO & Founder — MakingSpace, Inc.

A leadership development consultant and motivational speaker, Wanda Austin is the retired CEO of The Aerospace Corporation. She served as interim president of the University of Southern California 2018 -2019 and authored Making Space: Strategic Leadership for a Complex World. Her board service governance work has included chairing audit, compensation and public policy committees as an independent director. She earned a B.A. in mathematics from Franklin & Marshall College, M.S. degrees in systems engineering and mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering from USC. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a member of NACD.

Gail Lione

Senior Counsel — Dentons

Gail Lione is Senior Counsel at Dentons US LLP and an adjunct professor of intellectual property law at Georgetown University Law School. Ms. Lione is also a Senior Fellow of the ESG Center of The Conference Board and she currently serves as a director of two companies. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Sargento Foods Inc. since 2006, and the Board of Directors of Badger Meter, Inc. (NYSE:BMI) since 2012. Ms. Lione formerly served as a director of Imperial Sugar Company (NASDAQ:IPSU) and a director of The F. Dohmen Co, a Wisconsin private company in the life science services business. She is a member of Women Corporate Directors, Washington DC chapter. For most of her career, Ms. Lione was a corporate officer in the C-Suite serving as General Counsel of 3 companies in 3 different industries. In her last executive assignment, she was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. and President of The Harley-Davidson Foundation. She also served as Vice President of Human Resources for 2 years. In October 2017, Ms. Lione was honored by DirectWomen with the Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence Award for serving with distinction as an independent director of public companies and for working to advance the value of diversity in board positions. Directors & Boards magazine featured Ms. Lione as a Director to Watch in its 2015 Annual Report and she was listed as a 2019 Most Influential Corporate Board Director by WomenInc. Magazine. Also in 2019 she was featured in Winning the Board Game: How Women Corporate DIrectors Make the Difference , written by Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire.

Angel Brunner is the CEO and Founder of EB5 Capital. Founded in 2008, EB5 Capital is a $750 million commercial real estate investment firm with more than 25 projects across all commercial real estate asset classes. The company has served 1,600 clients, from 65 countries, creating more than 35,000 U.S. jobs to-date. Over the course of her 25-year career, Ms. Brunner has worked in various aspects of capital markets, real estate, and early-stage funding. In Q3 of 2020, she was appointed to and currently serves on the board of Cushman & Wakefield, (NYSE: CWK). Ms. Brunner holds a BA in Public Policy from Brown University and an MPA from Princeton University.

Rodrigo Garcia, CTP®, AIF® is the deputy state treasurer and chief investment officer for Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs. He directs the treasury’s combined $35 billion investment portfolio, $300 billion in related banking operations and financial services, and a ~$4 billion agency budget and financial services unit. In this leadership role, Rodrigo leverages financial innovation, investment stewardship, corporate governance, stakeholder capitalism and equity, diversity, and inclusion to maximize investment returns and bolster the Illinois macro and micro economies. He is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University, an Aspen Global Finance Fellow and a recent TEDx speaker.  He also is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP®), an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), and holds SASB’s FSA credential.
