Twice a month, for the next four months, from June 8 through October 2, we will present our popular Get on Board! Workshops, online and interactive, on Zoom. (Click for schedule of the 8 remaining Workshops.) No longer will geography limit access to our in-person educational workshops. No longer will the workshops be just one day in one city. Our new Get on Board! Workshops will be three 90-minute sessions within a one-week format: Monday-Wednesday-Friday sessions. Each participant will take home your own strategic roadmap and proprietary tools to help you secure your first public or private company board seat.
Intensive, focused instruction and interaction with the participants from all cities will be led by Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire, CEO of 2020 Women on Boards. Featured corporate directors for the June workshops include Stephanie Sonnabend, co-founder of 2020WOB; and Terry Bayer, on board of California Water Services.
Senior management and C-suite women executives, with expertise as CEO, COO, CHRO, CFO, Digital Marketing Leader, CISO, Cyber Security, or Operations, who are seeking their first or second corporate board positions. Retired military officers, university business school deans/professors or executives with other value-added experience for boards will benefit from participation. Q: Would I really make a difference on a corporate board?
A: Yes. A woman director will change the dynamic of the boardroom, bring your unique business perspective to the board, and help increase profitability, and workforce engagement.
Q: How do I identify which companies are looking for board members now or in the future?
A: Utilizing our Gender Diversity Index research and Gender Diversity Directory, both accessible via 2020WOB.com, we help you determine how many woman directors are on the boards of all Russell 3000 companies, and you will learn techniques to find contacts.
Q: What are my chances to get on a corporate board?
A: Research and preparation give you confidence. While there are no guarantees, our workshop will provide you with strategic guidance, tools, and coaching to increase your visibility in your industry and position yourself as a highly qualified candidate.
Q: How long will it take me to get a board seat?
A: The greater your discipline and proactive efforts, the greater your odds of being considered and selected. The key is your well-orchestrated and strategic outreach to contacts in your business and nonprofit circles.
